Not just now, but in recent years, the streets of America were filled with protest signs, raised fists, and chants for justice. Black Lives Matter wasn’t just a slogan; it was a desperate cry for recognition, for basic human dignity. It was a plea to be seen, to be heard, to be treated as equal under the law.
And how did MAGA respond?
Not with solidarity. Not with compassion. Not with the humility of listening.
They responded with a sneer and a slogan of their own: All Lives Matter.
They spat it like a counterpunch, as if universalizing the demand for Black dignity would somehow neutralize it. As if saying “all” was a rebuke rather than an expansion. But it was never about all lives to them. It was a deflection. A smokescreen. A coward’s rhetorical trick.
Well, now, the masks are off.
Because when faced with migrants crossing the border—often fleeing violence, persecution, or economic ruin—those same All Lives Matter voices suddenly get very selective. Now, “life” comes with conditions. Now, due process is optional. Now, children in cages are acceptable. Now, military-style raids, indefinite detention, and even talk of “remigration” are policies to be cheered.
When confronted with the suffering of people they’re told are outsiders, threats, criminals, their cries of “all lives” fade into silence.
Or worse, transform into cheers for cruelty.
It was always a lie. A lie told by people who couldn’t stomach the idea that Black lives might need attention and protection. A lie told to dismiss, to diminish, to dehumanize. Because if all lives truly mattered, then Black lives would too. Migrant lives would too. The lives of the accused would, too.
And we’d still care about fairness. About trials. About justice.
We wouldn’t celebrate incarceration without evidence or punishment without due process.
But MAGA doesn’t care about justice. They care about obedience.
They don’t care who is harmed, so long as the harm is done to them—the “others.” The scapegoats they’ve been told to fear and hate.
They claim to defend law and order, but only when it serves their white biases.
They claim to love the Constitution, but only when it protects their guns, not when it protects their neighbors.
They claim to be patriots, but only if the nation looks like them, prays like them, and obeys like them.
All Lives Matter?
Tell that to the asylum seeker left to die in the desert.
Tell that to the Black man suffocated on a city street.
Tell that to the mother whose child was taken from her arms by ICE.
Tell that to the protester beaten for marching in defense of the very idea of equal protection.
Tell that to the accused immigrant denied legal counsel because he “shouldn’t be here anyway.”
Tell that to the millions who still believe in justice, those who still chant Black Lives Matter not to exclude, but to include.
All Lives Matter is a shield for bigotry.
And now, with every brutal policy, every inhumane act, every shrug at suffering MAGA proves their actual position:
Some lives don’t matter at all.
