On April 23, 2026, Donald Trump posted the following to Truth Social:

“The Southern Poverty Law Center, one of the greatest political scams in American History, has been charged with FRAUD… If it is true, the 2020 Presidential Election should be permanently wiped from the books and be of no further force or effect.”

Not “the SPLC should face justice.” Not “nonprofits must be held accountable.” Not even “this vindicates my critics.”

He said an election should be nullified.

He said the votes of 81 million Americans should be erased.

He said this three days after his own Justice Department filed the indictment.

His Justice Department. His acting Attorney General. His FBI Director. His grand jury, in his preferred jurisdiction, in Montgomery, Alabama.

This shitbird of a president controls the weapon and is now demanding credit for the wound.

Here is what the indictment actually alleges: that the SPLC ran a covert informant program, paid individuals embedded in hate groups, concealed those payments through fictitious bank accounts, and failed to disclose the program to donors. The SPLC says the program saved lives and the payments were for intelligence on violent extremists. That dispute will play out in court.

Here is what the indictment does not allege: anything connected to the 2020 presidential election.

Not a vote. Not a precinct. Not a ballot. Not a machine. Not a signature. Not a poll worker. Nothing.

The logical chain from “civil rights nonprofit indicted for donor fraud” to “therefore nullify a presidential election” does not exist. It cannot be constructed. It is not an argument. It is a demand prettied up to present as an argument.

This is Trump’s tell.

A man who wanted accountability would let the case proceed and let the verdict speak. A man who wanted justice would point to the indictment and say nothing more. A man who wanted the truth would wait for it.

Trump is not waiting for the truth. He is using the indictment as a crowbar.

The SPLC may be guilty of every charge filed against it. That is a matter for the courts. But no conviction of the SPLC, no matter how sweeping, retroactively taints an election the SPLC did not run, did not administer, and did not certify. Sixty-one courts said so. His own Attorney General said so. His own Vice President said so. His own Secretary of Defense said so.

They were right then. This indictment changes nothing.

What it does change is the mask.

For four years he has needed a reason. Not a legal reason. Not a factual reason. A theatrical reason. Something he could wave like a cheap Trump flag. Something that sounded like evidence to people who stopped asking (or caring) what evidence actually is.

Now he has just that.

The man who controls the Justice Department has used the Justice Department to generate the pretext he always wanted. The indictment is real. The leap from indictment to nullification is fabricated. And the fabrication is the point.

This is not a legal argument. It is an audition.

He is testing whether you will accept this logic. Whether the habit of following has become strong enough that you will nod when he tells you an election can be unmade by a civil fraud case against a nonprofit that had nothing to do with counting votes.

Do not nod, you ridiculous lemmings.

The 2020 election was counted. Recounted. Litigated. Audited. Certified. Affirmed. The SPLC’s informant program does not touch a single one of those facts.

What Trump is describing is not justice. It is conquest via legal paperwork, a coup with a filing fee, tyranny presented in triplicate.
